A success!
July 12, 2009
The Craft of Adventure; an exhibition was a rewarding success! Almost all photos were sold, The Long Gallery was pleasantly full for the Saturday evening showcase, the artists and volunteers continue to be friends, orders are banked up for a copy of ‘100 Reasons’ DVD and together we have raised over $11 000 dollars for the Thamarai Learning and Community Centre and the work of Quaker Service Australia through the Pitchandikulam Bio Resource Centre in India.
We extend our warmest and most sincere thanks to all those who supported the event by attending, advising, promoting, volunteering, donating, discounting, purchasing photos and drinks and for being friendly faces through all, or part, of the process of the exhibition. It was a wonderful collaboration of skills and networks!
We will continue to pass on donations, take photography orders (see the catalogue, or e-mail katiekingshott@gmail.com for a copy) and orders for DVD ‘100 Reasons’ by James and Liam Correy. Billy Whims (myspace.com/billywhims), who together with Sam J Nicholson (myspace.com/samjnicholson) provided live music on Saturday evening and has recently released an album.
$11 000 goes a long way in India to do a lot of necessary- well done everyone!
